We are sending a rover to Venus because Venus is said to be Earth's twin. We want to prove that there is evidence that water exists or has existed on Venus, and if venus has or has previously held water, it would be in the form of aquifer. If we do find any form of water that means venus once held or is capable of holding different life forms.
The instruments we will be using are a Panoramic Camera which images the sky and surface of Venus (PANCAM), a Microscopic Imager (MI) which is a combination of a microscope and a CCD camera which examines the soil and compounds in the dirt, an Alpha Particle X-Ray Spectrometer (APXS) which determines the elemental chemistry of rocks and soils using alpha particles and X-rays, Rock Abrasion Tool (RAT) is a powerful grinder able to make a hole into a rock to examen the what it's made of, and a shovel on the side to dig in the dirt to find and animals living under the sand. We will also use a water tester.
